Working with forms
Form Auto Fill is a great solution if you use Internet in your everyday life and job, you often have to enter the same information on different sites, etc. Form Auto Fill is form filling software that saves your time and allows you easily save all information from web forms for later editing and filling web forms of any complexity with one click. Form Auto Fill saves and fills web forms in Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer and Maxthon (MyIE2).

Create new form
To create new form automatically (save Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer or Maxthon (MyIE2) web form):
Open a web page with the necessary web form, fill it (if you want).
Press Ctrl + Alt + W (by default you can use this hotkeys combination to save the current web form information).
In the "New/Select Form" window enter the Form name and click "OK".
If you save an empty web form, Form Auto Fill will create a form with the necessary fields for storing web form information and automatically fill form web page's Title and Url.
If you save web form filled with the necessary information, Form Auto Fill will create a form with the necessary fields for storing form information and automatically fill all form fields.
If a web form has "select" type field(s) you can configure Form Auto Fill to save the full list of information stored in the "select" type field(s) (turn "Get full list of drop down fields" option on) or save only the selected fields' values (turn "Get full list of drop down fields" option off).

To create new form manually:
Double-click Form Auto Fill tray icon or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Open Main Window item.
Click the New button in the toolbar .
Enter form name and click "OK".

Enter the necessary information: fill in Title, URL, Form fields. Select Fill form action and "Form fields linking" rule.

Click the "Save" button.
Rename form
To rename a form:
Double-click Form Auto Fill tray icon or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Open Main Window item.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".
Select the form you want to rename.
Make necessary changes in "Form" field.
Click "Save" button.
Modify form
To modify form:
Double-click Form Auto Fill tray icon or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Open Main Window item.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".
Select the form you want to edit.
Make necessary changes.
Click "Save" button.
To modify information in several forms simultaneously:
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in program toolbar and select "Forms list".
Click 'Batch mode' button.
Select what Forms you want to modify - put the check mark in 'Select' column and click 'Modify' button.

- Modify Form(s) information (title, url, 'fill form action', 'form fields linking' rule):
To change Form(s) Title, put the check mark next to 'Change title to' and enter new title.
To change url associated with Form(s), put the check mark next to 'Change url to' and enter new url.
To change Fill Form action, put the check mark next to 'Change action to' and select the new action from drop-down list.
To change 'form fields linking' rule, put the check mark next to 'Change fields linking' and select new rule.
- Modify Form(s) field information (field name, field type, field value):
To change information in the certain Form(s) field, put the check mark for 'Change field' and indicate the field you want to change (enter field's name and type), then select what field information you want to change:
To change field's name, put the check mark next to 'Change field name to' and enter new field's name.
To change field's type, put the check mark next to 'Change field type to' and select necessary type from the drop-down list.
To change field information, put the check mark next to 'Change field value to' and enter necessary data.
Click 'Apply' button.
Delete form
To delete form:
Double-click Form Auto Fill tray icon or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Open Main Window item.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".
Select the form you want to delete.
Click the Delete button in the toolbar .
Click "Yes" if you really want to delete selected form.
To delete group of forms:
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".
Click 'Batch mode' button.

Select what Forms you want to delete - put the check mark in 'Select' column and click 'Delete' button.
Sort Forms by name
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".
Put the check mark for 'Sort forms by name'.
Save web form
To save web form information:
Open a web page with the web form you want to save. If you want, you can fill it.
Press Ctrl + Alt + W (by default you can use this hotkeys combination to save the current web form information).
In the "New/Select Form" window enter the Form name and click "OK".
Form Auto Fill will create a new form with the necessary fields for storing the required data and fill them in.
If you save an empty web form, Form Auto Fill will create a form with the necessary fields for storing form information and automatically fill form web page's Title and Url.
If you save web form filled with the necessary information, Form Auto Fill will create a form with the necessary fields for storing form information and automatically fill all fields.
If a web form has "select" type field(s) you can configure Form Auto Fill to save the full list of information stored in the "select" type field(s) (turn "Get full list of drop down fields" option on) or save only the selected fields' values (turn "Get full list of drop down fields" option off).
Filling web form with saved information
Form Auto Fill offers different form filling options: you can select if you want to fill web form or fill & submit web form.
Fill form
To fill web form:
Open a web page with the web form you want to fill.
To fill web form, press Ctrl + Alt + F (hotkeys to fill form, you can define your own combination).
Using "Fill only empty fields" option you can configure Form Auto Fill to insert information only in empty web form fields.
- If there is only one Form that matches a web page/url, FormAutoFill will fill web form.
- If you have more than one Form that match a web page/url, you will see the list of Forms that match this url. Select the necessary Form and click OK. Form Auto Fill will fill all information, which is saved in the related Form.
- If there are no Forms that match a web page/url, you will see the list of all Forms. Select the necessary Form and click OK. Form Auto Fill will fill all information, which is saved in the related Form.
Filling and submitting web form with saved information
Fill & submit form
To fill & submit web form:
Open a web page with the web form you want to fill & submit.
To fill & submit web form, press Ctrl + Alt + Z (hotkeys to fill & submit form, you can define your own combination).
Using "Fill only empty fields" option you can configure Form Auto Fill to insert information only in empty web form fields.
- If there is only one Form that matches a web page/url, FormAutoFill will fill web form and then automatically submit it.
- If you have more than one Form that match a web page/url, you will see the list of Forms that match this url. Select the necessary Form and click OK. FormAutoFill will fill all information, which is saved in the related Form and then automatically submit it.
- If there are no Forms that match a web page/url, you will see the list of all Forms. Select the necessary Form and click OK. FormAutoFill will fill all information, which is saved in the related Form and then automatically submit it.
Using Delay between form filling and submitting feature, you can set the delay between web form filling and submitting web form information.
Open a web page/url
You can open a web page with the web form you want to fill:
using "Go" button - open the necessary form in Form Auto Fill and click "Go" button next to the "Url" area;
manually.
How to fill and submit forms with more than one submit button
FormAutoFill supports forms with more than one submit button. So you can easily select which submit button you want to apply while 'fill and submit' action.
After saving web form with more one submit, all submit elements will have 'not selected' value.
To select submit button you want to use while 'fill and submit' action - just change its value to 'selected'.

Note: If all submit elements have 'not selected' or 'selected 'value, the first submit element will be applied

Forms Encryption
Using Forms Encryption feature you can protect your Forms database using AES 256-bit key encryption. If "Forms Encryption" option is on, your Forms database is locked every time you exit the program and you have to unlock (mount) Forms database when you run the program. Attention! You have to remember the password. If you lose or forget your password, there will be no way to restore it. Form Auto Fill has no backdoors.
Lock forms (dismount Forms database)
To lock (dismount) Forms database, double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon or Form Auto Fill tray icon and click the "Lock" button in the toolbar or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Lock item. Note: to use "Lock" feature you should turn "Forms Encryption" option on
Unlock forms (mount Forms database)
To unlock (mount) Forms database, double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon or Form Auto Fill tray icon and click the "Unlock" button in the toolbar or right-click Form Auto Fill tray icon and select the Unlock item.
Export forms database
If you have Form Auto Fill 1.9 or higher version, you can easily export forms database:
To export your forms database:
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".

Click "Export" button and select where you want to save your forms database.
Click "Save" button.
Note:
- If your forms are locked, you need to unlock them before exporting
- Forms database is exported in non-encrypted form.
Import forms database
To import your forms database (that was exported from version 1.9 or higher version):
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".

Click "Import" button.
Select the file with forms database you want to import.

From "Files of type" drop down list select "FormAutoFill v.1.9 and higher (*.dat)".
Click "Open".
Note:
1. If you get message "File format doesn't match selected program version", it means that the file you want to import doesn't match FormAutoFill version you selected from "Files of type" drop down list. Make sure you select the correct file and Form Auto Fill version.
2. To escape the problem when imported form has the same name as already existed form in your current database, imported form will be renamed by adding '_*' to the end of the imported form's name.
To import your forms database (from versions 1.0 - 1.1):
If you have Form Auto Fill v.1.0 or v.1.1, want to install Form Auto Fill 1.9 or higher and want to move your existing forms to the new version:
Exit the program - select Exit from the program tray menu or click "Exit" button in program toolbar (not just close main window).
Copy file with forms database to another directory.
Forms database file is usually stored in the directory Form Auto Fill is installed in (by default C:\Program Files\FormAutoFill\ )
For versions 1.0 and 1.1 forms database is stored in settings.dat
Uninstall your version of Form Auto Fill and install the new version.
Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list" item.
Click "Import" button.

Select the file with forms database you want to import.

From "Files of type" drop down list select "FormAutoFill v.1.0/1.1 (*.dat)".
Click "Open".
Note:

Import forms information from files in CSV format
Now, you can easily import your information to Form Auto Fill from Excel, Word or other programs that allow to save data in CSV format.
Just save your information to file in CSV format and then import your file to Form Auto Fill.
To import information from file in CSV format:
1. Double-click Form Auto Fill desktop icon.
2. Select "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Forms list".

3. Click "Import" button.
4. From 'Files of type' drop-down list select *.txt or *.csv and select file you want to import.

'Import' window contains the following information:

Now you should select what fields from your file you want to import. You can use "+" and "-" buttons to select/deselect all fields in the list
Form name
Enter what name(s) you want to use for Form(s) that will be created. By default, the name of each Form is built from the name in 'Form name' field and corresponding Form's number. Note: Form's name may be easily changed later.
Title information
Form title
If you want all Forms have the same title, put the radio button for 'Form title' option and enter Title information.
Get Form title from field
Or you can select 'Get Form title from field' option and using the drop-down list select what field of imported file you want to use to get information for Form Title.
Information about url the form is associated with
Form url
If you want all Forms have the same url, put the radio button for 'Form url' option and enter Url information.
Get Form url from field
Or you can select 'Get Form url from field' option and using the drop-down list select from what field of imported file you want use to get Url.
Select 'fill form action' and 'form fields linking' rules.
5. Click 'OK'.
